For a client opportunity, we are looking for an Accountant Record-to-Report with English to join the finance team in Sofia, Bulgaria. This role is part of a business services team for Europe and focuses on delivering efficient, high-quality Record-to-Report (R2R) processes. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to streamlined financial operations and reporting, supporting continuous improvement within the team.
Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned tasks punctually to ensure effective service delivery, address open issues proactively, and support resolutions.
- Adhere to process standards and procedures for consistent service quality.
- Collaborate with team members and finance stakeholders to ensure timely processing of finance transactions.
- Identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions to optimize process efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate process documentation.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including reconciliations.
- Handle fixed asset calculations, postings, and reporting.
- Manage recurring journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare financial management reports, including balance sheets and P&L statements.
- Ensure the team meets agreed service levels (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Support the Service Delivery Lead with additional activities.
- Promote the company's culture and values within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in finance and accounting, shared services, or business process outsourcing.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, IFRS, and finance processes in reconciliation and closing.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with a structured, proactive approach to tasks.
- Knowledge of end-to-end finance processes, systems, and data flows, with SAP experience preferred.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in MS Office.
